Sofia Mast won her fifth stop on the Lucasi Florida Tour held at Village Cue Club in North Palm Beach on August 29 and 30, defeating Brianna Miller 2-0 in a race-to-two final match between two undefeated competitors. The event featured a double-elimination format that narrowed down twenty-four entrants to four finalists before settling into Stage 2 matches where Mast eliminated Jessica Barnes and Miller defeated Jeannie Seaver.
Mast's victory was particularly notable given her current schedule, which balances the first semester of college with culinary arts training; she admitted in social media posts that limited practice time at home has made staying sharp more challenging during this tournament series. Her opponents faced similar hurdles, including Vanessa Seaver who lost to Mast early but advanced through a loss-side run by defeating Jeannie Seaver and other competitors before falling to Miller later on.
Following the event, tour director Mimi McAndrews thanked sponsors Lucasi Cues and Village Cue Club for their support of this weekend's competition. The tournament organizers have already announced that the next stop is scheduled for October 17-18 at The Corner Pocket in Largo, FL, where it will host an annual "Cues for the Cure" breast cancer fundraiser instead of a standard cash event.
